A Day of Traditions

Another amazing Events by Design couple…

Su and Homan were not only an incredible couple (the kind of couple that make a wedding planner love their job) but they planned a day rich in family and tradition. Su, who is of Korean decent, and Homan, who is Chinese, knew they wanted to incorporate both Korean and Chinese traditions into their Americanized wedding.

The day began in the morning with an American Wedding Ceremony. As the mothers helped Su into her gown, they were dressed in GORGEOUS traditional Korean dresses.

BrideSu decided she wanted a “Mary Antoinette” inspired design at the Rancho Bernardo Inn for her American Ceremony and Lunch Reception.

The pop of the pink blooms against the turquoise gown is simply delicious! Continue reading

Exquisite Magazine Shoot Fall 2011

I had the pleasure of doing a shoot for Exquisite Wedding’s Fall 2011 issue at The Rancho Bernardo Inn. The title of this table top is “The Wedding Crasher” inspired by the crashing chandelier. Enjoy!

Homeboy Industries

Homeboy Logo

Nothing stops a bullet like a job…that’s the modo at Homeboy Industries. I had the honor or meeting with Father Gregory (or as the homeboy’s call him “Father G” or simply “G”) of Homeboy Industries to discuss a possible project with this unbelievable organization. They not only offer jobs in their bakery, cafe and silk screening departments. They offer job placement, tattoo removal, case management, legal services, mental health (parenting classes, relationship building, AA, NA), curriculum and education.

Homeboy Industries

This is Father Gregory (“G”). In the brief time I spent with him, he proved to be the real deal. His office wasn’t tucked away in the back where he can hide from the MANY people that want to speak with him. As you walk into Homeboy Industries his office with walls of glass is positioned so he can see everything, and more importantly, everyONE that walks in the door. Continue reading

My Canvas has Arrived!

Canvas photo

Thanks to Picture it on Canvas and Jared Bauman  of Bauman Photographers, I have this beautiful family photo! I love my little piece of art! A package came to the door, I opened it (there wasn’t a scratch on it!), and within seconds, it was proudly displayed on my entertainment center! I’m sold! I am putting in another order immediately! My hallway is going to be a wall of canvas!
